Giants depth chart: Surprises in secondary, wide receiver | New emphasis on tight end

EAST RUTHERFORD — For a team with so few position battles during training camp, the Giants still managed to surprise on their first preseason depth chart.

Three days before their preseason opener against the Browns, the Giants offered some answers.

Most of it matches up with what NJ Advance Media has reported seeing on the field over the last two weeks, but there are a few twists on the second- and third-teams on both sides of the ball.

Most notably, coach Pat Shurmur lists two two tight ends — not three wide receivers — in their starting lineup, which is a major change from the Ben McAdoo era.
